Loved this and Morneaux had no issues with the kick as he was already in a low spot - very tough ball for 1st sacker not to charge himself - talk about a tweener - I loved it. I'm been pretty skeptical thus far but I think its time I jump in and get me feet wet and get behind the boys. Anyone see D Young and the Twins great Dali LLaamas or monks - I think they stole that line from Ray Jawrosak as he told us in 9th grade see the ball hit the ball it's a simple game.

Back in the day when I tried out for the Twins, after the next day call back, Oliva showed up and was talking to a group of us...After telling some jokes, it was literally like that commercial.
See the ball, hit the ball

I saw that on the news last night. Don't forget - Morneau was a hockey player, so scooping up saves like that are no problem.

Maybe we should put Brocko at first - those goalies don't let anything by them.

Another one of favorite hardball sayings is - fielding a grounder is a lot like taking a dump in the woods you need to get your but-ox behind your ankles - got that one from a Cardinal coach.

I'm trying out this year - rumor has it they are looking for a 34 year old painter to replace Punto. How many swings and grounders will I get at the Dome Dome to showcase all my efforts of yesteryear.

You have one day: a 50 yard dash, 4 ground balls, and 4 swings to impress enough to get invited back for an all day scrimmage the next day.

If you make the scrimmage (they start with about 400 people, and call back about 25-30 for the scrimmage), you'll get a couple innings in the field, a couple at bats and that's that. However, I weaseled my way in to some pinch running duties, and I ended up stealing about 7 or 8 bases...so that was pretty fun.

On the bright side its 10 more yards than I thought, 3 more swings than I need and 2 more grounders than needed - #8 you said you would do this with me I'm counting on you for this one. I'm gonna make me a jersey I just don't know yet who I fancy to honor. Maybe even try and make the 10 o'clock news like the big guy from Invincible.

DC - All depends on what days it falls on. It's an all day thing, so that kinda sucks...and if I'm coaching the Ironbirds that night, I'll have to skip out.

The Ironbirds? Is this original or is this a minor league team name? Remember the good old days when kids played on teams like the Pirates and the Braves or even the Cardinals. I have to show and sit in that dugout and take a grounder but I may not last all day.

Ironbirds - Aberdeen...Cal Ripkens minor league club. The kids who are in A and AA are minor league teams...The kids who are in AAA and Majors are actual Major League teams
