Twins are actually still a very likable ball club, here is my early returns on the players this season.
Delmon Young- I am happy with him in LF for our squad, good arm, stick will come around. Little shaky seeing balls in the Teflon ceiling but hopefully time will fix that (well, it will when they stop playing there i guess).
Go Go Gomez- Who ever thought we would have someone who literally bunts twice as much as Punto? Can you bunt your way to a 300 avg? If so he may steal a 100 bases.
Cuddy- get healthy, need you in RF
Mike Lamb- This team NEEDS a power hitting 3rd sacker, Lamb is Junk.
Everette- I think Tolbert might be the SS for this team.
Harris- not the all-star castillo was, but has been a pleasant surprise at second base.
Morneau- Could have a monster year if the bats around him can protect him.
Redmond- MVP
Mauer- see redmond.
pitching staff- how nice would it be if it was Santana, Hernandez, Larino, Baker, Bonsor.. ect? Well its not, amazing how one man can change the whole look of the rotation.
Bull pen- Way over rated, don't like Crain, Reyes, Ricon. Like Nathan, Meshek, Gurrier. Can't stop wondering if Nathans $ would have went to Johan and Meshek was the closer, how that would have worked.
Monroe- is that Rondell White?
Kuebel- Great call Arkansas, is putting together a nice start with the lumber.
Punto- perfect type utility player, late inning defensive replacement, has even hit a little better in that role. He is stunned that he will not lead the team in bunts.
Gomez...although exciting, needs seasoning.
Kubel rules. I'm ordering my Kubel jersey now.
Yeah, I too like the squad. Delmon Yong and Gomez - both 22, and if they can grow together, could be the next generation of this squad. Mauer and Morneau relatively young - and if the entire team improves as the season goes on - and if Detroit can continue to stink it up, we could actually have a shot at the division.
Would help if Liriano could regain his form.
