Crows 13
ATS Softball 12
The Crows faced ATS softball in game #1 of a Fan appreciation night doubleheader. On a three game losing streak, the Crows needed a victory in a bad way, not to mention how devastating a loss on F.A.N would be. The game was an even battle as neither team could put the other one away. Leading the way offensively for the Crows were Randy "Mortimer" Ragner, 2-3 R 2B, who was making his 2008 debut and "The Human Hitting Machine" Mark "Hegs" Jeglosky who went 3-3 , with a triple, RBI, and run scored. Adam "Banny" Bancroft kept the Crows in the game with a tremendous pitching performance and a 2-3 RBI 2B day at the plate. Jason "Zog" Herzog did not dissapoint his youngest son Elias, who was in attendance, going 2-3 2R 2RBI 3B and a inside the park Homerun that brought the biggest crowd of the season to their feet. Rookie sensation D.J. "Brocko" Brockman continued to impress going 2-3 R 2B. However, despite all the great offensive days, the Crows found themselves trailing 11-12 in the bottom of the 7th with one on and two out. Stepping to plate was the greatest lead off hitter in Crow history Bernie "Sugar Bear" Knox. "Sugar Bear" took a pitch, and pulled one foul, then the third pitch of the at-bat came into his wheel house and he launched it over the right field wall giving the Crows a 13-12 win on a game winning, walk off homer.
