Sucks for the Boof troop. Now, I reckon it's time for someone to step up and fill his role - who will do this?

Am I the only one who is glad I will not have to watch that pile of garbage pitch for our Minnesota Twins this season?

Nolan, yes, you are.
He is the perfect 7th inning guy.
Throws smoke, and batters only get to see him once. Boofs problems with the Twins have always been lasting longer than a couple innings. Bullpen = case solved!!

His ERA as Reliever- 5.88, boy we'll miss that.

11.75 in the seventh inning, I wonder who will fill that role!

We'll talk about ERA, sample size, and generally effectiveness of a reliever at our first Crows game.
Just know, that Boof was used in a mop up role when he was demoted to the pen, and that as a reliever, one bad outing (3 runs in one inning), usually end up taking 6-8 outings to lower the ERA again.

More on Boof, lifted from gleeman:

Exploratory surgery on Boof Bonser's sore right shoulder yesterday revealed labrum and rotator cuff tears, so his 2009 season is done before it even started. Bonser pitched his way out of the rotation last season and wasn't much better following a demotion to the bullpen, finishing with a 5.93 ERA in 118.1 innings. However, his peripheral numbers were much better than the ugly ERA and the Twins were set to give Bonser another chance to claim a bullpen spot this spring.

His 55-to-16 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 52 innings as a reliever had me optimistic about Bonser's odds of bouncing back in the bullpen and perhaps even emerging with a prominent late-inning role at some point, but now his days with the Twins may be over and his career is in jeopardy. Bonser's injury along with Bobby Korecky being lost on waivers to the Diamondbacks last week will make it much easier for Philip Humber to claim an Opening Day roster spot.

I just hate our bull pin, I like Nathan, and I think Gurrier is good, but I think they used him (Gurrier) to much at the beginning of the year and he suffered from a dead arm in the second half. Reyes, Crain, Bonser, and even Brenslow I just didn't have confidence in. I do have high expectations for Jose Mijares, as the lefty and Luis Ayala, as the righty. I think we will all agree, if Neshek would of stayed healthy their would of been no need for a one game play-off last year.
