game 8 recap

Game #8

Crows 10

Bobber Down 20

In game #8 the Crows faced an old friend and big rival in the Bruce Theory lead Bobber down team. It was obvious that Bobber down was going to come out with revenge on there mind after the shellacking the Crows gave them in week #2, not to mention that the Crows were coming off a dreaded break, in which they are 1-16 in franchise history. And to stack the deck even more against Americas team they had to play a bunch of UPS drivers in the same week that the UPS sponsored Big Brown (hence the name for all you non-Horse guys) won the first leg of the triple crown in the Kentucky derby. Even with odds against them the fearless (and drunk) Crows came out with there pistols blazing, topped off with an Adam "12 pack" Bancroft grand slam. The Crows lead 5-2 after two innings when boober down out scored the Crows 7 to 3 in the third to give the hungry bobber down boys a slim 9-8 lead. The wheels came off after that as the crows gave up seven and four in the next two innings and had there bats go to sleep giving the Crows there first loss and a 10 run stoppage after five. Leading the way offensively for the Crows was Dave "Arkansas" Sorenson with a 1-2, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI, a walk, and a Homer performance and D.J. "Brocko" Brockman added 2 hits, including a double, an RBI and a solid defensive performance. Bernie "Sugar Bear" Knox remained red hot going 2-2, with 3 runs scored, a double and a walk.
