Interesting scouting comments on Young and Gomez:
Even scouts are apparently beginning to sour on Young. Or at least "one scout" who recently talked to Jayson Stark of ESPN.com:
I'm not so sure about Delmon anymore. He swings at everything. And he's not a very good breaking-ball hitter. You spin it, and he can't lay off it. And if he hits it, he doesn't do much with it.It's unclear whether or not he's the same person, but Stark also quotes "one scout" opining that Gomez is "like a toolbox without a key" offensively. On Gomez's defense, however, the scout says: "I don't see a whole lot of difference between him and Torii, other than name and reputation."

Okay - so who is this "one Scout"? And if this guy exists, how would he possibly be employed as a scout?
Delmon Young - 22 years old - cannon of an arm. Hitting .287 - .287 as a 22 year old in the major leagues. Just because he has not hit any HR's, he is being touted as a bad hitter? He has as many home runs as Joe Mauer, and also has 8 stolen bases to boot.
And Gomez - again 22 years old. Only going to get better - has power and speed, and the ability to put the ball into play. But defensively - the same as Torii Hunter?
These Scouts must have joined DJ on a trip to Banny's truck before making these comments.
Huh..Huh...He said Bannys truck.
