Daily Foo
I don't have a whole lot today, just figured I'd leave a little Foo Fighter lyric:
All my life I've been searching for something, something never comes, never leads to nothing Nothing satisfies, but I'm getting close, closer to the prize at the end of the rope.

Mitchell Report
The Mitchell report has been released, and thankfully, no current or former Crow's were listed.
I think this can be attributed to a strong management structure and a bunch of hard working individuals.

Gopher puck
With such a slow start to the season this year, we might as well focus on some good news:
Ex-Gopher Erik Johnson, a rookie with the St. Louis Blues, has two game-winning goals this season.
Gophers-bound Jordan Schroeder of Prior Lake leads the U.S. National under-18 hockey team in scoring with seven goals and nine assists, including two game-winning goals.
Former Gopher Paul Martin is first among New Jersey Devils defensemen in scoring with one goal and 10 assists in 23 games
Gophers recruit Nico Sacchetti of Virginia, Minn., has four goals and three assists in 17 games for Omaha of the USHL
Former Gopher Thomas Vanek has seven goals and 10 assists in 24 games for Buffalo.

I hope we end up giving him to the Red Sox, as insufferable as they would be, it would make the Yankees irrelevant and we wouldn't be subjected to 24 hours Yankee reporting on ESPN.

Delmon
I absolutely LOVE this trade.
When was the last time the Twins went aggressive after a young hitter?!?!
We lose Garza, which is going to suck, but we pick up a sweet hitting 22 year old who can rake.
http://www.startribune.com/twins/story/1579929.html
And for all those people complaining about losing Bartlett/Johan/Hunter/Silva in the same offseason, all I have to say is we had those 4 for the past 3 seasons, and only made the playoff's once. Time to re-tool.

I would be content on getting a couple young studs and an everyday major-leauger...We aren't going to make a haul on this trade, so best to get minor leaguers that some opposing scouts may have overlooked.

Phil Jackson....how funny is this?!?!?
Coach Phil Jackson was reprimanded by the NBA, but not fined, because of an off-color remark he made Tuesday night after the Lakers lost to San Antonio. Jackson was trying to explain how the Lakers' defense kept allowing Spurs players to penetrate the lane and kick the ball out to teammates on the perimeter for open shots. We call this a 'Brokeback Mountain' game because there's so much penetration and kick-outs," Jackson said. "It was one of those games." The Oscar-winning movie portrayed two cowboys who hid a homosexual affair

Coach speaks
Via Carney:
Good Afternoon Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's FAN. Outside of the Purple and Gold yesterday was just what this team needed, a good recharge, thanks to all for your valuable insights and suggestions on how we as a TEAM can improve, I will consider comments and suggestions from those who attended. I believe the coolest idea from yesterday was the fact that next season we will tape our games and watch them at post-game festivities as you jokers sing, motion was offered and approved by all (I shall call them the functioning triangle). Good things, opening day next season, someone who attended please remind me of who didn't. Short bus we will have to do on our own, Brocko mentioned the fact that the YC is gonna type up several different contracts for CR's - you know the $1500.00 plan the $2,000.00 plan and my favorite the $2500.00 plan - Zog you got this - it would be a nice way for you to contribute - have Randy help. J Kelly will be needing 4 YC's to help with the installation of radiant heat - have Hags lead the work crew J. Looking to hire a full time camera man or lady for next season, also we will need camera and tripod. I am currently reviewing the whole YC Heirachy and will make changes to the Chain of Command and personnel as I see fit - across the board with intense scrutiny I am gonna evaluate all. Who's got a joke? caw caw caw, oooooops what a great hockey game played last eve vs. young Brocko, not to mention the Roadster was in prime form. Thats one 2 hour practice for next season.

Carney speaks
Via Carney:
Good Morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's FAN, so sick of candy, does anyone know who migrated to and settled early in anoka, this added TO why they call themselves the Halloween Capitol of the World, very interesting? Outside of more tooth rot all is well. Special thanks to Brocko as me and #12 got to enjoy the fruits of his labor at the Wild game and meet Tino Literri and broinlaw, what a sweet setup Alary's has not to mention all the long lost homies you see there.
Mr. Mark - still waiting on your wants (notice they were not needs Zog) A happy and content coach is a coach who's ready to contribute big picture - what were Joey and Will for trick or treats? Shake and Bake
Bernie - how's the 3 year old skating? Miss J playing hoops or what? Expectations are high for those kids as thay are more than capable.
Jim - I must have your doctors #, no lazy rehab on the YC's watch
Arkansas - big game tonight homie, enjoy and may the Crow be with you and the Huskie nation
Hags - I expect your familia to get YMCA memberships, this is not a request.
Kyle - few things I need from you, 1st being you rehab and strengthen the lower back - this is mission critical, 2nd being winterize the HOG
Gunner - of all the games to miss Fall Championship - okay I'm over it. Winter conditioning program? Also, the YC is working very closely with Crest for a TV commercial spot for you. Thanks for sharing your octoberfest trip - jerk
Zogger - love how you manage from afar - this tactic only works because i'm letting it. What was Little Z for halloween - thinking tigger, the most wonderful thing about tigger is i'm the only one. Godfather update please
Ballgame - how did the football squad finish? Offseason conditioning - more concerned here about cardio. The Cardinal is strong and so is the Crow. Jerry says he wants to give $1500.00 you get $2,000
Wilkey - still shaking my head due to the fact on your Andover Huskie Hockey website you have a St. Cloud Huskie - enough said , thank you for your accountability - darn it I missed your restitution at the Creek. "http://andover.pucksystems2.com/page/show/
JKelly - Any dance recitals lately, 4 hour show to watch 10 minutes of your own kids (uncle dave has been there done that 4 shows) May the Crow be with you. Is the boat off the river, if not we should\n have a party like the Vikes did - I'm Smoot
Pipp - I'm not gonna lie, I missed you this Fall, we go way back Pipp, If you agree I'm taking over as your agent. Do you know anything about the mostly female group that searched out and settled in Anoka early times? Say hello to the young homies from the YC.
Espy - you got everything we look for and then some in a player, no worries as Head of softball operations I am working on this and will find a viable solution, still waiting on a ride in the Vette, that joke was awesome - if the average male puts 90 miles a year on his feet I think I do about 500 or so if not more
Treats - hoping hockey is well, would love to sit down and wrap about how to motivate these kids into becoming students of the game as well as having a lust for winning.
Ragnar - didn't know you were the vikes mascot on Sundays, can you make it Nov. 11. People outside of our clubhouse are telling me this team is in chaos, obviously I am blind to this or not included in the loop, whats going on here - let me guess class of 91' silliness\
Brocko - Wilkey said this best several months ago, "I love the new blood, they come in all fired up and ready to play" Only topic I want you concerned with is playing ball and maximizing your skills, talents, abilities. No soap opera jazz for you, what a asset.
Josh - Your Wild slumbuster, national televised game hats were awesome - few can pull off something of this nature, seems so easy and natural for you - why is this, its in your blood - gamer
DC - I am so curious as to where the fall stats are, i know i know numbers can be skewed and achieved at the teams expense, and lets not forget about situation, numbers can lie but mostly they are reliable, Zogger i'm all jacked up on mountain dew, i'm about ready to go spyder-monkey on your ___. anarchy anarchy i don't know what\n it means but i like it.
Caw Caw Caw, who's got a funny?

Granted there will be thousands of these before it is all said and done, but if he ends up in Chi-town he'll have to get the AJ treatment...

Objects
Objects in the mirror, are closer than they appear....WOOF WOOF WOOF!!!!!
No. 3 Andover at No. 1 Anoka
Upstarts eager: Andover has never won at Goodrich Field and has never been to state. Andover's Tony Cullen and the running game will be key. He ran for 198 yards in a 19-13 overtime loss to Anoka last season. And he ran for 92 yards before getting knocked out of this year's Anoka game with a concussion right before halftime.

Coaches Corner
Via Carney:
Good Morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's fan. Just to bring all up to speed, Coach was just on a southeastern recruiting trip for the YC, to my suprise I could not find any players that could upgrade our current roster, Roger that and family are doing well, so proud of my nieces even though Kayla (11 years old) is dating the QB for the Buford Wolves, I lost a bet to this QB on the Vikes game and have to die my hair Buford Green - looking for a hairpiece and green spray paint. #8 I love the blog, please keep it rolling, however, I do understand free will and the lack of participants.
Calling a mandatory meeting Sunday Nov. 2 (not sure on the date) at HeadQuarters for the Viking game against Green Bay, attendance is mandatory, we have several topics of great importance that need to be discussed. The Originals are expected to show as well - this is non-negotiable.
Off-season conditioning - please inform Coach of what your plans are for this as to ensure we all come back next year a little bit stronger, faster, and wiser. I sure miss Tuesday nights at the Creek. The Crow is strong, thats all I got for now, Caw Caw Caw. oops anyone got a funny joke to tell, Marci was always good at this.

Prep results
Just had to add the Prep football playoff results:
Section 7
• Andover 20, Forest Lake 7 - Arkansas's new home town, Andover
• Blaine 28, Coon Rapids 12 - Arkansas's old stomping grounds, Blaine.
All we do is win.

Silva
Ok, I couldn't resist on this one...
http://www.twincities.com/walters
Now, I'm not a big *little birdie* guy, but if it is true that Silva is turning down 3 years at over $7 million a year, he is on crack. $21 million for a guy who eats innings, and that's about it. He'll throw an occasional 2 run 9 inning game, but he'll follow it up with a 10 hit 5 run 2 inning game next. If Silva gets more than $21 million, I want a raise for this blog. I feel I do about as good a job as he does.

Is this the end?
Well, since there seems to be a lack of readership, I will be suspending the blog until next season. I enjoy updating it everyday, but outside of Brocko, no one else seems to be posting. I can save Brocko and myself valuable surfing time and will resume next year unless there is a groundswell of support to keep posting...

QA with Eric Johnson
Just to further rub it in to Wilks, check out this from Eric Johnson, St. Louis Blue:
Question from Paul Christensen: Who was your favorite NHL team growing up?
A: Since the North Stars moved when I was really young, I ended up cheering for the Vancouver Canucks. I loved Pavel Bure, so I cheered for them. But I also loved the Gophers seeing as there really was no other hockey team in Minnesota.....
I think the Gophers are going to win the national championship this year. Frazee is going to be a rock for them in net; he is going to be the factor and I think he is going to have a monster year this season. They will have no trouble scoring goals. [Kyle] Okposo, Barriball, [Ryan] Stoa, [Blake] Wheeler and [Ben] Gordon will all have great years up front. The defense is inexperienced, but [Derek] Peltier is a quiet leader and a tremendous hockey player. [David] Fischer will have a good year and [Brian] Schack will be solid. They have some younger guys too, but they are all really skilled. I think they will be in the top three in the WCHA, but win when it matters most. Don't make me look bad boys!

KG and Ray Allen
http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/24454
So, it appears KG is too salty for Ray Allen...the Celtics will NOT go anywhere in the NBA playoffs and will only make it to the playoffs because the East sucks. If Ray Allen can't handle a KG Eff Bomb in practice, what's he going to do when KG really gets going during games?!?!?!

CROW's Journal on Hazing

The EC's stance on hazing:
According to the CROW jornal on hazing:100% of those hazed by the Crows reported being subject to ALL of the 3 categories below, PLUS a karoke song.
Some examples are:
Forty-three percent of those hazed reported being subjected to humiliating activities, such as being yelled or cursed at; told to skip school or not associate with others; forced to eat disgusting things; or tattooed, shaved, or pierced. Like being told to skip work, eat $2 burgers with NO cheese, and grow a mustache.....
• Twenty-three percent reported being involved in substance abuse, such as drinking alcohol, smoking, or using drugs; participating in drinking games; or exercising or drinking until passing out. Like drinking beer and shots, then playing softball, then drinking again until passing out.
• Twenty-nine percent reported performing illegal acts, including destroying or vandalizing property, being forced to steal or cheat, or being forced to beat up or inflict pain on others or be beaten themselves.Like pissing outside by train tracks, steal an extra base, beat up on the Red Pants, and sing karoke.
It's a beautiful day
Cue up some U2 (sniff, sniff), because Adrian and the Vikes whip up on the Bears (fall down, Chicago Bears, you're not in first)
http://www.startribune.com/vikings/story/1483851.html and the Wild are 5-0 and the only undefeated in Hockey. http://www.startribune.com/wild/story/1484274.html.
Let's also not forget the Ice Breaker title won by the soon-to-be-2008-NCAA-Champ hockey team http://www.startribune.com/gophers/story/1483436.html
Now, if we can just get Tnutts signed...
On a side note, let's give it up to SUCS for earning 3 out of 4 points with that rough and tumble power house known as Canisius...

Fall wrap-up
Via Carney:
Good Morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's FAN, lets get out skiing/boarding one time at bare minimum with you and the quiet strong - deal - u drive.
On behalf of the Young Crows and everything that is good about sport Coach Carney would like to present Our 2007 Captain Arkansas Dave (its not your gang Dave) Sorenson with the 2007 Playoff MVP Award, Bernie, who Dave voted for had this to say about Dave
Out in the open. There is no doubt that one individual stood above the rest not only Tuesday night but all year long. If we all prided our games, emotionally, mentally and physically after this one gamer we would have won the championship. I for one will admit that my torch started to burn out as the night went on. My offseason workouts will increase and I will improve my stamina for next year.
Captain, Dave Sorenson for MVP
Assistant To The Head Coach/ OF Coach/ Mark Jeglosky had this to say.
My MVP.......The entire YC infield...you guys played great!!!! (there were a couple of plays that made me go WHAT?) But over all it was by far your collective best efforts!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't let this go to your head Dave, keep him humble young man and next time when you talk to Coach Carney you best come loud and proud. Snowboarding is your reward or skiing for the family - free lessons for all. OOps by the way Dave you were a perfect 11 for 11, 9 runs scored, 4 doubles as you hit Jim's spot #2 in our order, Darn it Jim.
One more thing about the group within the group, I saw six guys huddle up before game one and look at the snowflakes - it should have been 13 ludes not six leadoff hitter.

Good Morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's Fan, even though we fell short we learned as a team, and as a coach I saw some things that went down not according to script, first noticable was the lazy fly ball, I had 2 pop ups which was 2 more than I had all Fall season. One of my favorite YC's came to me and told me he was thinking of Kelly from Saved by the Bell in the Box - no worries here its between you and me and you hit well. Second - anyone notice the group within the group, this bothers me, we have played sport all our lives and if you don't understand team yet you may never. With each minute passing it burns me a little bit more. Special shout out to jkelly - saw mucho positive leadership skills - I would follow you into battle, that was the longest right approach attack on a blue I have ever seen. I know who my MVP is, please respond independently to me on who you think MVP of our championship run is asap. Have much more to say but thinking it best I hold off and let my emotions settle before we proceed. Thanks for handling the post game conference Jkelly, we did play great ball and it was a hoot, not a fundamental text-book hoot but lots and lots of fun, so proud of you Young Crow's, you are well on the right path to playing Crow Ball for life. Stats would be sweet, Fall 2007 will simply be missing two games - as Crow's and the way we run this is par for the course. Caw Caw Caw, day off anyone wanna play nine?

Championship Run
The Championship run fell one game short.
Playing in the blustery cold weather, the Crows won the first game in a dominating fashion 27-7. The hits continued to come in the second game, but not as frequent, during a 12-7 win.
The championship game featured offensive fireworks from both sides, and the Crows fell short 24-22. Excellent showing by the Crows. I'm sure the Executive Committee will post a season wrap up in the next couple days...

Good Championship Run Morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's Fan. The YC's Fall season will be defined by tonight's outcome and efforts - do not show timid - show loud and proud with some pep in our step and some pride in our stride, lets not forget about the Caw in our jaw. No more silly words, its time to perform between the lines, in big games the cream of the crop rises to the top. Pre-game if you choose otherwise 6:30 at the creek for bp where we took it first game of summer. Caw Caw Caw - leave nothing to chance. When we win it all we will vote for Playoff Series MVP - who wants it - who's hungry - this ones mine. I will come up with a winning lineup unless you white collars want to put something together - minimum of 6 need to agree on it though, otherwise I got it, Gunner's out of town which really steams me, Wilkey late 1st game - did I tell u Wilks I bought 3 quality Husky hoodies for 20.00 on clearance - seems they had to give them away. Pay attention to the game and help each other out as needed. Give me some more of that Bernie - good things
Who knew the Hockey community was such a exclusive and elite club to be in, I know its strong in Mn. but what about nationwide?

Good afternoon Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's Fan. Thia afternoon I was thinking about the most dominant championship game or series I have ever seen, some came to mind, 91' Twins, Late 80's ShowTime Warriors (lakers) Jordan and his Bulls, but I think and Randy can back me up on this the most dominant in your face we're gonna beat you cause we're the best was when the Broncos ran the ball at the pack all afternoon and manhandled them in the superbowl. What was yours? Give it a thought as we are on a championship run of our own, dress warm as game temp 7:30 #2 at the creek will be low 50's with of 21 - 31 knots. Caw Caw Caw, oops Favre is breaking all sorts of Records this year - doin it Old Style

Is it any wonder why there are threats of blackouts?
That season ticket renewals are down (I didn't renew mine this year)?
This has to be one of the worst run teams since Les Steckel.

Good Morning Crow Nation, what a Tony The Tiger GRRRRREAT Day to be a Crow's Fan. Special YC thanks to JKelly as he is assisting HQ purchase outdoor heaters for the soon to be built outdoor patio, good things #92, no wonder Jerry was so good to us Tues.
Trollhaugen ski area is having a open house this weekend, Sat,11:00 am, bring the family as they offer free hay rides, chairlift rides up 320' of vertical, free lift tickets per person ($35.00), hot cider and other fun stuff for the kiddies, with the leaves changing and the scenic St. Croix River Valley on 95 it should be a very enjoyable time, I strongly urge you to show and meet the Carney clan, get some free swag and ski some this winter.
Instead of calling it a beer bust we'll call it a meet and greet, or autograph session, or a social, if you feel less of a man or shame by asking friends or family to show you are excused from this one, maybe next time. Jerry has needs as well as we do, we are in a partnership here - its a give and take thing, there might be some Pohlad in you #8 good things, lets think up some other ways to generate funds as well.
Josh forward to The Bousch. Gonna go sling some paint now

Now if we can only get Carl to read and understand this as well, maybe we might be able to keep Tnutts around...and maybe we can bring in a big time DH like Bonds. Sometimes you have to roll the dice, and although it can come up craps, you show the fans you really do care.

Good Morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's Fan. Today is the day - 2day is the payoff for all our efforts and hard work this season. The Crow is strong as we enter Fall 2007 Playoffs with aspirations and a strong belief that we are gonna win three games and be Crowned Champions. Pitch by pitch - out by out - inning by inning - game by game - stay tuned in and focused. We are gonna play good ball - every facet of this game. Leave it to no chance, get up on em early and put em away - if we score more runs than them we will win the game, right Zog? 6:30 at the Creek, swings if you want em or not, Coach likes to see who's swinging a hot stick before the official line-up card is made.
Young Crows, eat your lunch like a champion, drive to the park like a champion, go through pre-game warm-ups like a champion, take the field like a champion, get quality at bats like a champion, run the bases like a champion, play D like a champion, give the effort of a champion, have the winning mindset of a champion at all times, simply put, do this and The Minnesota Young Crows will once again be Champions (that's our goal). This is the measuring stick for our season.
I'm not kidding, Banny can back me up on this, I had a conversation with some Crows Mon afternoon about 300' from Lake George. After intros I asked if we were gonna win this, no lie I got Three Caws - The Crow is strong - Caw Caw Caw, oops 1 more thing, if we don't make any errors we will have played an error-less game, right Defense and Zog. Weather could be issue.
I'm bringing all my jerseys and am gonna leave nothing to chance

Good afternoon Crow Nation, what a Great day to be a Crow's Fan, not so good for our fellow major minnesota sports teams as they all seem to be in major crisis (Wild exluded but y no playoffs. I am livid about our emotionless - stoic - unproven - never been in the heat of battle (its obvious) or called your own plays in a game b4 coming here, head coach Chili - hes not wearing #44 or doing anything to help this team evolve into champions - stop calling this idiot Chili, he's lost, no clue, no control, no impact, JV is a better fit. Our twins situation parralles domino's, slinky, polio, this is a horrible, I've been persecuted for far less than JV. I'm gonna turn all this negative pissed off energy into a positve champion run tommorrow at the Creek - negatives into positives thats how I'm rolling. Favre doing it at our house - fu NFL schedulers. Sorry #44 our dumbass organization thought it appropiate to put you into the Ring on such a bitter day and a sea of green - what were they thinking - I guess not thinking was and is the case here, Thanks George
Breaking News - As the major franchises are representing this state in such a poor fashion - Governor Pawlenty, and the best, Rosie have lobbied very hard to the YC to set a prototype that all major Mn. teams could follow and basicly copy like a 2nd grader. They convinced The YC the best way to keep positive Mn. sport morale would be for the Young Crows to be renamed The Minnesota Young Crows. Young Crow's let put this state on our backs (similar to Puck in 91') and win this championship and restore not only the YC but show all these other smucks how a major league organization is run. Ladies and Gentleman your Minnesota Young Crows (Casey) We need three tommorrow lets get four, Caw Caw Caw
No mercy tommorrow, The state is counting on us, we only agreed to be called the Minnesota Young Crow's for one night.
I'm going into tomorrow all pissed off, you do what you need to just make sure your fired up and ready to play YC ball like youv'e never played before, If we give up one run thats one run to many.

Ok, I've been a Twins fan since I was a kid.
I played baseball from ages 4-24. I coach little league every chance I get.
After seeing a story like this, I hate everything about Pohlad and what he has done to baseball in this state. If the Twins don't resign Tnutts and continue to play their *50-52% revenue to payroll* card, contract them. The guys net worth increases by 500 million in one year, holds the state over the coals for a new stadium, then refuses to pay for talent on the field...Is this guy insane?!?! The problem is, we take it because we don't want the Twins to leave. We can only vote with our wallets, but once we do that, we're screwed, then he just puts less talent on the field.
Let's get Mark Cuban to buy the Twins. I'm posting a request today...join in: http://www.blogmaverick.com/

Via Carney:
Good afternoon Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's Fan. What is your definition of a total team effort? We play the regular season for this oppotunitty right before us - playoffs and a chance to win a championship. Lets do this Crow style
Bernie - RC - The role of a leadoff hitter in my eyes - work the count so all can see his offerings, set the game standard for quality at bats, turn a single into a double Pete Rose style, spark the club with with your quickness, put fear into the opposing defense - let em know the YC is on. No worries here as these are all strengths of yours.
Arkansas - 3B - Many non-Crows have told me you are the best YC, I tell them you are equally awesome offensively and defensively, very well rounded and certainly polished and then I Tell em the YC does not have any best players, all are great, most don't understand this but you do. Then they look at the stats and think I'm crazy. I know you'll bring your best.
Hags - LF - Counting on you and your outfield this playoff for a minimum of 6 assists (2 per game) Moving home to bat #3 in this Champion batting lineup - Do what you do and hit the situation, find your rhythm in the box and run with it. Greatness is a title that you can only achieve in the playoffs and I know you are deserving of this title. Most coaches put their numero uno , big cheese, head honcho in the #3 spot.
Gunner - RF - Your teammates want you in the #4 spot, so be it. In sport the ultimate compliment and award that every player cherishes the most is the one voted on by there peers and teammates. Enjoy this Gunner, make sure your legs are underneath you in the outfield due to injury plagued Fall season. You would not be batting 4th if there was a shred of doubt that you could not handle this very important task.
Kyle - LC - Hoping the #5 (lower back) is back to full strength and you are ready for this championship run. Kubel got hot after the season was over, not you, you play your best when its on the line early. Use both outfield lines offensively as only you can do. Wouldn't it be awesome if we got to see some of those crazy great made easy looking catches you make out there. Lets finish like you started - very strong
Zogger - 2B - Gotta have some of those Alomar diving efforts, take advantage of em and push it to right when they give it to ya, when they change you change strategy (Jordanesque -, can't stop em) remember the gap shot to lc against the Red Pants, field 2 has gaps. Gotta have your vocals in the infield, it matters - old time softball.
Wilkey - C - placement is good and always will be - don't be shy to turn on it though and pepper the left field line - it is a easy stand up\n double. Call a good game, control tempo when needed, field #2 blue is a tough one if we get em, work good PR back there (fishing trips to Ca. and such) Get em on our side early as we play field 2 all the way through.
Billy Ballgame - 1B - find your power stance (inner Pujols) and drive through the ball, making sure you follow through, find your front foot early but make sure you keep head back and shoulders parrallel to the dirt, if you want more power close your front shoulder (be careful with this). If the infield puts it in the dirt we need you to pick it, please remind me why the call you Ballgame.
J Kelly - P - Looking forward to your quiet all business approach, the book is still out on you - we don't know how good or great your gonna be, you have already more than proved yourself in big game situation, talk to Banny about our rotation, you got the first one. Hardest ball I've seen you\n hit is when you explode late lower half and line it to RC grass.
Bancroft - P - I know, as do many umpires that you have the best curveball in the state, Johan gave up many homers this year cause they all sat and waited for the change up. I expect you to talk with middle infield about who has the bag in case of DP. Hit the ball like you did when you won a batting title for the YC, how many guys can claim that honor?
DC - SS - 2nd leadoff is where you will hit, defensively its imperative you be vocal to the outfield to assist them in getting assists, as they have guns. Good starts on possible DP's (I want some) Do not get into batters box unless you are of the mindset that you will not be refused a hit - or walk
Randy - EH/IF - we are short players and the YC deserves your 50/50 to be that of 97/3 in favor of showing - Championship - missing this might haunt you like Favre breaking the all\n time TD record and the all time career interception record in the same day.
Pipp - IF/P/OF - Where have you been? Oct 2 7:30 #2, it will be a long offseason for you if you don't show - seriously, gotta have ya.
Brocko - IF/FL - Wow, take a deep breathe Rook, you are a most fortunate YC Rook being you and your teammates are poised and in great position to welcome you to the YC with a first year Championship providing we all remember the ways of a champion. I am confident you know this path and will perform. Deep breathes Rook, fasten your seatbelt.
Treats - EH/OF/PH - What can I say to you that you don't already know about ball Treats. How about this - The Young Crows are a worhty Institution and Ambassadors of Sport. Gotta have ya Treats week in week out - this is non-negotiable next summer. Dubbed The Solution, I'm personally counting on you going forward.
Esperum -EH/OF -\n What a pleasure having you this Fall - all mine as Coach. I didn't think our outfield could improve anymore but somehow you made us better out there. Big fan of you charging first hop and throwing a powerful strike to the dish. Like you said all you needed was a little WD-40 and the bat would come around, I'm a believer. Sorry, but you and Brocko are YC Championship virgins, Don't worry Tues night around 10:20 this will not be the case.
Todd - EH/OF/PH - Are you on a milk carton, thought you were a Fall Ball specialist?
Josh - OF - It is mission critical that you witness and participate in Crows history, this could very well be the most dominant championship run in YC history - Bring the newborn and the spikes.
Tell - Hoping the slipped disc is improving, let us know when you are gonna go under the knife, the YC may open their wallets and send somebody down to ensure a healthy return
Joey - We only get to see you one night a year, come on out to the Creek.
T-minus 4 days enjoy your weekend, dream championship dreams all, feeling real good about our chances here. Caw Caw Caw

Regardless what you think about the guy, he still produces monster numbers.
This is EXACTLY the type of move the Twins should make.
A bold, shake up the franchise move that puts people in their seats, and instantly upgrades the offense. I'm in, who's with me?!?!?!?

Coaches pre-playoff pep talk
Via Carney:
Good afternoon Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's fan. Playoff ball is upon us Oct 2 7:30 #2 at the Creek. We don't play for fame, fortune, or celebrity status, we play for championships and the love of sport (in that order). Lets do what the Crows do, Win Championships, I'm looking for my second Crow Championships (The YC has many) and will settle for nothing less. I wonder if we will have any Fans being it such a big night.
Offensively - swinging hard at good pitches, walks are good come playoffs. Do not step into the box until you are mentally ready for the task at hand, every at bat determines The YC's destiny Fall 2007. Take all good chances on the bases, get a Bernie first step out of the box - it could make the difference.
Defensively - Outfielders your first step is the make or break on a tough chance, go for it on a tweener as your teammate will back you up. If you got a legit shot and are pumped up throw it home otherwise put it to two. Infield - make the routine routine, do not give away game momentum. Read the batter and align as you see fit, get a DP or six (deflate em) Make sure of the first as we can't get two if we don't get the first. Pitchers - do what you do, get ahead early and make em swing at pitches of your choice. Cover first when need be and back up all throws to the bases, especially the 4 spot. Make sure your D is plugged in and help batters read opposing pitchers and his style of craft.
We need three lets get three and restore The YC at the Creek to its rightful place CHAMPIONS. T-minus 5 days, I know what I need to do to ensure we win a championship. Do you, if not let me help, bring your best effort and always remember the fundy's, this will not be gift wrapped we will have to Caw our way to the top. 3 times Caw Caw Caw

Brocko's reminder
www.allprodad.com
In the event to make current and future Crows all they can be, I have provided a website for all you Dads out there. (Note: If you currently do not have offspring, this website can still provide you with valuable information/reminders as you navigate through life)
This is Coach Dungy’s organization. It offers nice reminders/information/techniques/philosophies etc. that coincide with the daily activities of being a Dad and a Husband/Significant Other. I would recommend you sign up for the Daily Emails as that often times has many interesting remedies to problems or situations.

With the great news the EC fired off yesterday concerning DC and his staff and the signing of Brocko, I'm sure the YC will not have to follow the path of the *other* home town team.
It is a shame that it has gotten to this. Time to get back to the basics, hit your cut-off men, and watch your base coaches. Lew Ford, your time has come, too many mistakes for a guy who is supposed to be so smart.

Hags - Promoted
From Coach Carney:
I understand that some say you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with - with that in mind It is my great pleasure to announce that Mark "Hags" Jeglosky has been offered the role of Assistant Head Coach and he has accepted, a role very similar to that of Mike Tice. Mark brings a strong voice and a strong presence which I feel I may lack sometimes - a no non-sense approach, he has the innate ability to deciphyr a situation and get down to the core. I feel much assured knowing that Hags will be a major player. I feel very confident moving forward knowing if I do something that may not be in the best interest of the YC Hags will let me know or handle the situation.
Mark had this to say "I am very pleased with what I have seen in my first season as a YC. I feel very priviledged that the organization has recognized my efforts and skills and that those same efforts and skills being rewarded with a promotion. I will not abuse this and will make decisions based on the best interest of the YC"

I feel very priviledged that the organization has recognized my efforts and skills and that those same efforts and skills being rewarded with a promotion. I will not abuse this and will make decisions based on the best interest of the YC"
Brocko Signs 30 Year Contract!
Coach Carney wasted no time in making his first "official" move as head of Softball Operations with the Crow Franchise. This is how Coach Carney operates, quickly and efficiently.
The Young Crows, and the Crows franchise would like to welcome David "Brocko" Brockman, to a 30 year contract, effective immediately.
As the contract states,
"I, David “Brocko” Brockman, accept the role as player, and whatever else Coach Carney deems me to do, with the Young Crows of the Crows franchise, for the next 30 years. I agree to give up any and all of my offspring (those that I am aware of, and those that I am not yet aware of) to the 3rd and 4th generation Crows. This includes summer ball, fall ball, and winter ball, if Coach Carney sees it necessary for me to work on my game over the winter. It also includes one Zimmerman tournament (or tourney of Coach Carneys preference) per year.
I also agree to sing one song everytime the Crows are out, and there is an open Karoke machine."
the Crow Organization could not be more excited in the signing of this highly touted free agent.
Brocko's official response:
"I, therefore, the Representative of the United States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge (EC) of the Crows for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of the Crow Nation, solemnly publish and declare, That these united Crows are, and of Right ought to become one, and that I am Absolved from all Allegiance to any former softball clubs, and that all political connection between them and the Crow Nation, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Crow, I have full Power to Run, Catch, Hit, and establish a work ethic unto no other, and to do all other Acts and Things which Coach Carney may behest upon me. — And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, I mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor, for we are Crows, isn’t that enough? --Brocko"

MAJOR PRESS RELEASE
The Young Crows, and the Crows franchise would like to welcome David Carney, as permanent head coach.
David Carney has just accepted a contract extension through the year 2012, with incentives that could ultimately have him in control of the team until 2037.
In this role, Coach Carney will be responsible for day to day operations, including player personel, front office executive decisions, as well as on the field duties. He has full power to appoint himself a staff as he sees fit, to put together a winning and fun attitude both on and off the field.
Please join us, the Crows Executive Committee, in welcoming Coach Carney with a 3 caw salute:
CAW!!! CAW!!!!! CAW!!!!!
Reaction from Coach Carney:
"On behalf of the Young Crows and everything that is good about sport I accept the role of Head Coach for a guaranteed 5 years with incentive 5 years per every championship not to exceed 30 years. I frimly believe the job of a coach is to give every YC a chance to enjoy this game and maximize their skills, talents, it will be a joy to watch you all soar to new Crow heights. I know the true strength of a team lies within each player, not the coach or GM. I promise we will be as good as each and every one of you's combined efforts. Heck, we might even have one or two practices all next year."

Gardy must go
http://www.startribune.com/twins/story/1428719.html
Alright, this fascination with Nick Punto is getting borderline absurd.
How can Gardy hand the job to Punto when he has been absolute garbage all year long?!?!?
He is going to struggle to finish the year at .200, yet we are giving him the starting 2nd base job next year?!?! 2008 is going to be a lot like 2007...:(

More troubled times ahead
http://www.startribune.com/twins/story/1426351.html
Let's forget the fact that this team just took it up the tailpipe against the Tigers.
Let's forget the fact the Yo-han has looked pretty ordinary the last couple months (which actually could help the Twins if we do resign).
This story here should really concern us.
When a guy like Morneau, who from all accounts could care less about when and where he is playing ball, starts questioning whether or not he should stay, it's time for panic. This is the single most important offseason in Twins history. Good luck Mr. Smith.

Ryan perspective
http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/10350354
Reading this kind of sheds a light on how lucky the Twins were to have Ryan. We forget what that he took over when we absolutely sucked ass, and turned the franchise around. Granted, we never got a World Series out of it, and he didn't pull the trigger on getting some extra bats around, but he has put us in position where BSmit (Billy Smith, we're tight like that) can pull the trigger when needed.
Here's a big YC salute to TR .....CAAWWWWW, CAAWWWWW!!!!

New philosophy?
http://www.startribune.com/twins/story/1420419.html
So, does Terry Ryan go? Is Gardy in trouble?
Dave St. Peter? Perhaps Carl has finally surrendered control to his sons, and Tnutts and Yo-han will be T4L (Twins for Life...that's right, I rule).
Most likely scenario, they switched minor league affiliates...That's generally the *big* news that comes from the Twins.

Good morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's Fan, Caw Caw. Needed two and got two - very supersticious now - whatever you did to get ready for our last 4 games please make sure you do week 1 of playoffs. We put up two W's 19-6 and 14-2 making quick work of our lesser gifted opponents improving to 7-3 and securing 2nd (not to thrilled about this). 1st place team has only one loss - we cawed em 16-1 earlier. We are not done yet - playoff championship - gotta have it.
I'm putting a bounty on Jerry, $34.00 to knock him down and $50.00 if I see blood.
We have a free reserved table fri night for the Rock-n-Roll rally for the YC at HQ, mosh pit. Get a babysitter if needed and bring the wife, or not - there is talk of awards ceremony at intermission if we have enough show. I reckon we will show around 8:30 or 9:00.
Take next week off, however, there might be some singers next week at HQ, lets keep fighting the good fight - good things. If we get into hardball we will still play softball and want all YC members to play, only criteria to play is that you enjoy the game somewhat similar to Puck (gosh I miss his smile, especially when the team is in crisis). Thats all I got, for now - see you Friday for Highlander at HQ - spread the word. Where's my stats? Where's Randy?

Back to hope again?
http://www.startribune.com/twins/story/1416961.html
At least Santana didn't drop a *He's here, or I'm gone* on us.
If it keeps Santana around, I wouldn't mind seeing the Twins resign Carlos. However, if they have no intentions of keeping Yo-han, then screw Carlos, let him go.

More of the same
http://www.startribune.com/twins/story/1409033.html
Now they are inventing ways to lose. What a joke. They are going to start selling off parts (or not re-signing) in the offseason, and we are going back to mid-90's Twins baseball with Rich Becker as your CF, Scott Stohoviak as your 1B, and Denny Hocking as your utility guy. ARGGG!!!!
Btw, Andover Huskie football fever...catch it!!! They take down Blaine, on the road, to improve to 2-0. Next week's home game, the youth football teams are introduced on the field prior to kickoff.

Freak
http://www.startribune.com/vikings/story/1404234.html
I'm on the Superfreak bandwagon, and always have been.
People rip this guy a new one and hate him for very minor (in comparison) transactions.
Guys with drug abuse (Brett Favre), people involved in Murder (Ray Lewis), those who like to slap a ho (many...) get off light. This guy pushes a traffic cop with his car, and he's the anti-christ.
Trading him is why the home opener still isn't sold out.

Good morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's Fan. So proud to be a member of this squad when we play ball the way we are capable of playing ball, we played good enough to mark 15 runs both games and improve to 5-3, 1st place teams are tied at 5-1 and we play one of them next week, then we have a bye last week of the season to rest up. Next week 6:30 SC2 vs Double Play who we just beat, 7:30 SC1 vs Morgan Stanley (1st place). Playolffs possibly 9-25.
Far to many great efforts on the field and off the field with the mic at HQ to mention all. Thanks to all for showing, as a team we enjoy having the flexibility to take an inning off, that was our truest games to playing original Crow ball that we have played thus far. The Big Club would be pleased. We needed two and got two - Caw Caw
We find oursleves heating up for a late season charge into the playoffs - PLAYOFFS. Thats all I got for now, Caw Caw Caw

T-nutts
I would like to start a daily post commenting on something I run across...all topics are welcome.
Today's link:
http://www.startribune.com/509/story/1399449.html
I would like to start by saying if this is true, then I am with the Terry Ryan on this one. If Tnutts is turning down 15 million a year for the next 3 years because he wants 5 years, we can't re-sign him. Centerfielders don't age well, and having to pay Hunter 15 million when he is 38 and swinging at sliders in the dirt is not good business....Especially when the farm system is STOCKED with centerfielders (wait, scratch that, we have nothing down on the farm either).

Via Carney:
Good morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's fan, keep your heads up Gopher Nation and Cardinal Country as you lost in similar fashion in the season opener. Bernie clearly detested when I said we were a .500 ball club - we are 3 - 3 with games 8:30 SC1 vs. Double Play 2 - 2, 9:30 SC1 vs.The Camel 2-4. We have yet to play DP and we beat the camel 9-4. All we can do is win out and go 7-3 for the season and Caw our way to the tournament championship, however, we cannot go 7 -3 unless we win both our games this week.
Several issues of concern, first being the lack of offensive output - what's going on here - swinging at bad pitches - lack of focus in the box - a don't care attitude - what is it? You Tell me, he is good at golf. Second being, where is the Caw in our jaw and the pep in our step these days? We seem to be just showing up and damn it that's not good enough - I think you all should show and go play up to our own individual capabilities and contribute something somehow. A league or tournament championship guarantees me 5 years as Coach, That's all I could get from the Ec, well, that and a lame speech about light speed.
I guess my future as Coach is in the hands of this team and how we finish season - this should be the Tell all. Third being, Where's Where's Randy? Thats all I got for now, Caw Caw Caw

HS Football opening night
The Andover Huskies take down the #3 rated Champlin Park Rebels, 7-6.
The Coon Rapids Cardinals fall to the lowly Maple Grove Crimson, 10-9.
DC, get off my back. I know what I'm talking about when I pledge my football allegiance to the Huskies.

Good Morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's Fan. Stop the Panic - stop searching - start playing ball, see the ball hit the ball, catch the ball throw the ball, if you want to hit a double hit a double, its a simple game. How many runs did we score in our loss - that was the most embarrassing game of the season - unacceptable run production - he's gonna throw it underhand hit it. Some are concerned about winning this league as we are off to a 2-2 start - yes we are more than capable of being 4-0 - even Zog knows this, and as to whether or not we win out that is up to 12 to 15 individuals aka The Young Crows. I know we are not a .500 ball club, heck, once again we out talent every team in this league, get it together - each and every one of ya, especially the ones that were constantly chirping in my ear last week. Its a new day in Crow Land
And yes I have been distracted but you guys need to show up ready to play, the EC told me we would talk contract at end of summer season and secure the future of Coach Carney for many great years to come. This has not happened and the EC obviously thinks it is of no importance as to avoid all efforts I have made to contact them. Upper management is a ruthless bunch - I cannot believe how they see fit to run this squad. Frankly, I was shocked to learn of the ways of upper management within the Crow Nation - I cannot go into details so don't ask. After learning of this debauchery I feel it imperative to sign a long term coaching job as to ensure the YC is ran in an appropriate manner and the players are treated fairly, cause a happy ball player is a productive ball player. Also, I am selling my 33% of this squad (serious inquiries only) as to the fact if we keep empowering Zog and Billy and letting them control the destiny of the YC by themselves I fear it will be sunk like that of an ocean liner or a Chinese junk.
And another thing, I am disgusted with the way we entered 2007 summer playoffs and the the lack of showing for districts. If its not a priority for all its not a priority for everyone. We play the season so we can play in the playoffs and win championships, championships damn it. Yes Zog, if we don't lose a game in the playoffs we would win all of our and games and win a championship.
Bernie - yeah you will show up but you'll be barefoot with socks in tote showing as first pitch is thrown, bet you don't show up for work like that, maybe next time you can win your debate with Blue, how many more guys does that blue need to sit down before we get it
Arkansas - as commissioner of a lesser league you better care about the kids who have the Cardinal across their chests, you owe me beers at HQ asap (beers meaning plural) 30 minutes of your time - hell you might even enjoy it, please replace the stache picture, I will not ask nicely again.
DC - possible Fall Ball MVP candidate, concentrate on individual successes within team concepts and strategies, keep up the great play
Kyle - one of the few who I'm not pissed off at - Thank You very much, your a real pleasure to manage, oh so your done making crazy great catches - okay whatever
Pelkey - take a number and that blue got you just like he's gotten other legends
Bo - take a number and zog needs the stat book that you had, So Bo you'd like to become a member of the CY, very interesting, maybe even give you #26
Class Of - how many at bats you got this season, 11:30 curfew - whatever, good call
Jegs - you best settle, I'm seeing the lava start to bubble and some volcano activity, real fun coaching these slugs eh, when was your last assist maybe you don't need to bait so long on some of these ludes - just trying to help
Zog - I'm not a believer in the scrap anymore, get it together lude. Joey Juneau - what would he think of the way you carry yourself, I won't be fooled again, the team needs stats and so does Coach
Coolage - so you think it fine to let the Crow take a backseat now that your coaching football, what do you run out of intensity at 7:30? You and zog on the list of considerations
Wilkey - are you ever gonna show at HQ. Was this summer the first time in union history where your job was easy - thought so. You should look into moving back into your old hood and having A-rod at national. Give me one Brian Harper
Gunner - some are questioning me right now but 'm questioning everyone and especially your moonlighting with other teams, keep your stress down - oh have you seen Esperum play RF
Esperum - sweet Vette - mid-life crisis eh. Great having you on this squad - and oh by the way was it over your shoulder - questioning balls and strikes into the next inning - THATS MY JOB, get some assists as our left side seems cold
Tell - its official your chicken to play a round of golf with me. All I do is give and give and give and you give nothing back - it SUCKS. In town for eight days - whatever lude
The Brock - don't let Zog steer you onto my bad side. Your grunt is great when you hit it out of field #1 but not so great on a can of corn. I have noticed you play with great effort - bet your teammates have yet to notice as all they care about is themselves - Welcome To The Jungle Brock - let that punk Rosie know Joe Schmidt was the best Mn. will ever have, even though he sold out.
Treats - Winslow is the best kept secret in the league. positions are starting to get real tight and players are settling in, thought you might like to know
Randy - when can I hang with ya Old Style Homie? You should listen to some of these guys these days, I thought zog was gonna be my rock - he's more of a sail - sure miss havin ya around
Goodwin - Are you playin or what? I need an update on your broken hand and possibly medical records to clear your absences.
Showoff - bet your changing a lot of diapers - Nascar drivers can get 4 tires, fuel, and a drink in roughly 15 seconds,
Pipp - Good luck with your MMA Card at the Fargo Dome, can you believe some of these guys, don't they know yet they need to bring intensity, fire, passion and a winning mindset on their own, can't put it in can't take it out.
Jim - somebody said you signed, if this is the case you are being fined per game absence.

Honorary Crow?
As this singular act is something very Crow like, I move to nominate Mr. Bill Murray, an honorary Crow...Will someone second the motion?

Good morning Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's Fan. Although I will never ever sing karaoke (cuz I can't), it amazes me the fun and skill that J Kelly, Jegs, Zogger, Lehman, Bruce Wayne, Ballgame, and lets not forget about the wife's club, lots of singing this weekend - good spirits all the way around. 1st game saw us put up 21 runs, 2nd and 3rd game I think we gave them presents. After the Legion party it was the after party at Zogs where he DJ'd the best round of karaoke ever, simply singing machines, singing machines.
Playoff Ball, as we enter the first ever playoffs under me as a coach there are several things on my mind. This could very well be my last game as Coach due to no long term signings this year - one guy cannot win tomorrow, 2 guys can't win by themselves tomorrow, 3 guys can't do it alone, we need every one bringing their best effort and contributing somehow in some fashion. I'm at a loss for words right now - maybe I don't know how to motivate a team come playoff time, maybe everything is in order for a championship run, I just don't know. So whats it gonna be, champagne and jet setting or tuna on rye. Everyone show tomorrow with a winning mindset, a mental mindset that will earn us a championship, a certain swagger if you will. May the Crow be with us. The force is strong. That's all I got for now. Caw Caw Caw
Bruce's 1st at bat every YC will drop their gloves and do the Bruce Theory dance, we will demonstrate it to all before or simply follow, it is pretty Homer Simpsonish. As Billy Ballgame mentioned, we did tell our sponsors we won that tourney to try and get out of the doghouse for losing 2 in league, I had a lot of fun coaching this year guys, thanks to all and we will see who the next coach will be. We will vote this at awards banquet after season at HQ. I have a special prize for this years MVP as well.
Whiskey's at 8:30 than we outplay All Seasons and steal Bruce at 9:30.
Breaking News, Joshua Herzog is a dad, his new pal Brody Allen is right around 5 days old. i'm gonna dedicate my game to that of Brody. Congratulations Josh);

Good Morning Crow Nation. What a great day to be a Crow's fan (is there a bad one). The last week of the season finds us losing 2 - no worries - The 2006 Detroit Tigers backed up in to the playoffs and won it all - why can't we, I call I'm coach Leyland - I think it fits. We all know we were more than capable of winning both those games. The records might not reflect this, but damn it, you guys played the best ball I have seen in years and the YC is the best team in this league (head and shoulders above) and we will make a strong charge come playoff ball, somebody bring a boombox with "We Are The Champions" (Buck Rock-n-Roll Zumhoff style). So proud of The YC and how this team rolls.
Notable efforts - I'm still laughing at the great diving play Class Of made in RF, Gunner through a strike only to fry his knee that he hurt playing for another squad, Jegs went through a one game hitting slump and then back to business, Zogger gapping Red Pants with a lazer to LC, Arkansas crushed a tater, Kyle contributed nicely as assistant coach - take care of #5, Bancroft pitched himself back to the 15 day disabled list (achilles), Wilkey turned hard and peppered LF chalk line, Esperum showed a very good arm, J Kelly pitched a gem 1st game, Lehman lead off 1st game with a hit, Pipp showed fleet of foot on the bases and avoided a tag. Ballgame tried to find some winning intensity for us. After the game this stunning female (best looking girl ever) came up to me and said "Hey Coach, why are you the best looking YC"? I replied, you just wait a cotton pickin second little Missy, you come back next week, look at Bernie and Jim and the full YC - then you tell me that, I even mentioned Treats was a longshot but still possible. Thanks for a great regular season - but we're not done yet - no way jose. Next week 8:30 we beat The Whiskey's than we trounce Theory at 9:30 - this is non-negotiable. Thats all I got for now, Caw Caw Caw
Hey Captain, who is Ron Jeremy? My stache is that of Coach Leyland. Can't wait til that damn stache picture gets cycled out. Lets go Lugnuts
Zimmerman this weekend, convoy style, party at Zoggers and sleepover sat eve (spread the word) as we play Crow style ball and celebrate Jennys (Zog's wife, katies sister) birthday, you know, pinatas and pin the tail on the Red Pants, party favors and such. Tell Jenny's single friends the most eligible bachelor in the state will be there, or better yet warm em. 1st game 9:00am Zimmerman. This weekend is every bit as physically demanding as a marathon or as me and Jegs think of it, a triatholon - playing ball, consuming, and socializing all day.
Also, J Kelly is starting a Saturday morning 7:30am waterski/wakeboard club on the river. Let me know J if this is okay - this is your fine for missing week 1 playoffs, we'll get you to the showcase game, you just better come with a Jack Morris like 10 inning effort.

Captain's cawwwing
As I WFH today and look out the window, one thing comes to mind...Damn it's going to be hot tonight, and I'm glad we don't wear Red Pants. Unfortunately, I have to guide the Lugnuts through the CRALL Loser bracket, so I will miss the 7:30pm showdown. However, I will be there for the 9:30pm rubber match against All-season. Let's whip them good. :)
Still working on getting the stats posted here, so hang tight. I'll work with Zogg and get him access to this bad boy so he can post away.
Carney....still waiting for the Coaches Corner...

Via Coach Carney:
Good afternoon Crow Nation, what a great day to be a Crow's fan. The 5th annual fan Apreciation at the Creek was by far the best week of ball yet - anyone noticed this ballclub simply gets better every week. Special shoutout to the originals who showed, The Godfather, Coach P, Fanny who showed up with a colared shirt, Randy, Salty Dog, Dave L., Reinwald, Bob. Reinwalds band was very amusing to the ears. Keith Kelly handled the grilling side of FAN without a flaw, he cooked for 60 - 80 people with charcoal and 2 Weber's - this is not an easy task, he must have had a system. It was great seeing family and friends - Crow Nation was loud and proud this FAN. Special thanks to Billy Ballgame and Jason Herzog for coordinating FAN - pat yourself on the backs gentleman. The pictures were great Miss Tara - thank you for your efforts this season. Maury was awesome with the Nigerian national anthem and the voodooo spell he placed on Graco, after the game Graco came to me and asked that Maury dismiss the spell. Special thanks to Jerry and CR's for the shirts and gift cerftificates that he donated, and his sponsorship this season. Thanks to Arkansas and wife for setting up our blog, going forward it will be used.
You guys played Crow ball winning both games improving our record this season to 13-6-1. 1st game saw us beat Graco 18-7, 2nd game 22-9 over the Whiskey Sausages/Savages. So proud of the level of ball you guys have played so far this season. We will not stop improving - this team is on the right track we just need to ensure the tracks stay clean and we do not derail. Next week we play the rainout games, 7:30 SC2 vs. red pants, 9:30 SC3 we play The Bruce Theory group. Big week next week - lets show the red pants it was not a fluke. Far to many great individual efforts to mention all. The big ball club plays tonight at 6:30 - Coach Podvin said it is getting close to the time when the originals might be looking at bringing some YC players up to play in the show. Thats all I got for now, Thank you Dave Tell for the shirts and Class of and Ballgame for ironing them on. We should look at making some more of those shirts - perhaps team photo or individual shirts. Caw Caw Caw

2007 Player Profiles
#4 Joe “Pipp” Hoffman – 3B/OF
A first year Crow, Joe brings the entire package, with solid fielding at third and in the outfield, as well as a great line drive hitter to the middle of the Crows order. His wife Tara has also accepted role of team photographer.
#7 Josh Herzog - Utlility
Another son of Mad Dog Denny, Josh finds himself filling in very nicely with the Young Crows. It is rare that a game goes by, that Josh does not make some sort of miraculous catch in the OF, and then follow it up with some timely hitting. He is expecting his first born any day now, and has also signed over his son to the 3rd generation Crows.
#8 “Arkansas” Dave Sorenson - SS
Arkansas has been voted captain for the 2007 season, and for all the right reasons. Is at or near the top in almost every offensive category, and plays stellar SS. If you want to watch a true ballplayer, come to the park and watch Arkansas Dave.
#9 Billy Nolan. - 1B
Has yet to miss a game in his 4+ years as a Young Crow, and his gritty style of getting down and dirty makes him the role model for the 3rd generation coming up. Only player in Crows history to win a Gold glove in the outfield and the infield.
#14 Jason Herzog - 2B/OF
Second generation Crow, as he is the son of the Crows all time strikeout leader, Mad Dog Denny. Known for his scrappy style of getting on base, and his diving stabs at 2nd.
#15 Randy Ragner 2B, IF, OF
Taking the year off due to personal reasons, will make his 2007 debut on Fan Appreciation Night. A solid Crow both offensively, where he holds many of the Crows records, and also defensively where he can play stellar at every position.
#17 Rob Wilkey - RF/C
Another veteran presence in the Crows lineup – makes the plays look easy in RF, and has been working exclusively with the pitching staff this year, helping them settle down and just throw strikes. Almost a guarantee you will see a few solid shots right between 3B and SS tonight.
#19 Kyle “Duche” Christenson – LC
What a pickup Kyle has been for the Young Crows. Getting what may be the biggest free agent on the market, the Duche has shown that he is worth every penny. Arguably the most clutch hitter in the lineup, and has proven to be a gem in the outfield.
#21 Keith Gunerius OF
This lanky outfielder has a hoover for a glove and a rocket for an arm. He loves to slap a single here and punch a single there. But watch out, he can hit it deep when he needs to.
#23 Jim ‘Bama’ Sorenson – C/OF/IF
Another big offseason acquisition for the Young Crows. It took the Crows 3 years to get him signed, but now have his rights for 30 years. With his great swing to deep right center he is a guarantee to get on base, and an all star fielder.
#24 Dave Carney IF/OF
Coach Carney, as he known around these parts. Solid lefthanded hitter who reaches almost every at bat, can hit for average and for power. Plays a flawless outfield and infield, and now that he has added coaching to his resume, there may be nothing left for him to prove. Tell still would like to see him with a full time mustache though.
#26 Bernie Knox - RC
A long time softball veteran, with Tim Raines style quickness in the outfield. A tough left handed hitter, who rarely makes an out. Bernie has been around the game for over 3 decades, and has not lost a step.
#33 Mark Jeglosky - LF
Thanks to a crank 411 call, the Crows were able to talk Mark out of a 4 year retirement and they are reaping the benefits. Once an All-Star, always an all star, as it took Mark about 1 inning to regain his form of 1992 where he hit .750, led the team in HR’s, and outfield assists. Welcome back! Mark has signed on for 30 years, and the Young Crows also hold the rights to his sons Will and Joey.
#92 Jason Kelly - P
J Kelly has taken the starting pitching role with this team to a new level. Shuts down opponents by moving the ball around, and forcing them to swing at bad pitches. Has a long ways to go to catch Mad Dog in strikeouts, but he rarely lets the opponent hit the ball solid.
#99 Hugh Muehlberg - 3B/OF
Hugh brings size and power the Crows lineup, although injuries and personal commitments have kept him sidelined for most of the year. Look for the longball with Hugh, and a potential diving grab in the outfield.
#22 Dave Tell - SS
Dave is still working his way up through the minor league system. Has shown some spark as of late, as he has advanced from Kansas City to St Louis, and now to the AAA Memphis Bluebirds, in hopes of rejoining the team in time for the District tourney. I’m sure the Crows will need someone like Dave to make some refreshing ice water during Districts.

So, looks like the Crows are heading up to Zimmerman the weekend of July 20th to play a little Carpet ball. Good luck to all attending, and do the Crows proud.
